Thrift Shop volunteers meet in the Undercroft to prepare for a recent sale

Due to great demand the Thrift Shop Sale started up again November 13, 2002 after being closed for over two years during the church renovations.
This time around it is being run in collaboration with St. James, St. Mark’s Church and the Roman Catholic Group.

It has turned out to be greatly successful financially and otherwise, which is shared between the St. James Food Bank and the Missionary Sisters of Charity (founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta).
This success has been made possible through the generous donations of clothes, household items and various miscellaneous articles. They are always on the lookout for nice things to recycle, so keep them in mind if you’re cleaning out your closets.
The Thrift Shop has become a monthly event (the first Wednesday of each month, October through June), to which many people, including Florentines, look forward and during which they can enjoy socializing over a cup of tea or coffee, pastries and fresh fruit offered by the Thrift Shop Team: Sybil, Joan, Sue, Karen, Rachel and Maria.
