Safeguarding

The Episcopal Church and the church of St. James are committed to providing a safe environment for children and all vulnerable people.

The Episcopal Church and the Convocation maintain safeguarding guidelines and provide numerous resources to ensure their effective observance.

We maintain up-to-date records of all people working with children, and within our parish at large.

All of our volunteers must complete the following three items:

  1. A completed Background Check and Reference Form
  2. A signed Child Protection Compliance Statement
  3. The Certificate that shows you have completed the Safeguarding God’s Children online training.

The first two are provided by the parish office.

The third will be generated upon completion of the online training.

If you have any questions, contact the Parish Safeguarding Officer, Dominique Musico.

More information is included in the two resources below.

Jocelyn Phelps is our designated safeguarding officer for the Convocation. She is familiar with these guidelines and can answer questions. Her contact info is on the Convocation web page below.
